Million-dollar galas, celebrities and a PGA tournament: Inside the collapse of a Colorado private jet broker
Nearly a dozen lawsuits filed by customers in the past month allege the company and its CEO, Ferren Rajput, operated the business like a classic Ponzi scheme. OneFlight International, a Colorado private jet broker, has been hit hard by lawsuits alleging that the company operated like a Ponzi scheme. The lawsuits also allege that rising operating costs and unsustainable promotions left the company increasingly insolvent. Despite these challenges, OneFlight continued hiring more employees and aggressively pursuing new business in an effort to keep the lights on. Since the company's collapse, its celebrity ambassadors and sports league partners, including the PGA Tour and a Formula 1 team, have distanced themselves from the company. OneFlight's CEO, Ferren Rajput, served time in federal prison for tax evasion and has been sued for not paying bills, taxes and rent. Despite this, former staff claim that OneFlight no longer exists.
