The funds will support the exploration of integrated geothermal power generation and deep earth storage around Steamboat Ski Resort. The company's current plan includes green hydrogen production to replace natural gas and to power fleet vehicles. The grant will enable Pure-green Colorado to study the viability of next-generation geothermal energy in partnership with the Steamboat ski Resort.

DENVER, Colorado – Colorado’s Geothermal Energy Grant Program is awarding $298,000 to Pure-Green Colorado for advancement in the use of geothermal technology. According to a press release from the company, the fundings will support the exploration of integrated geothermal power generation and deep earth storage alongside green hydrogen production around Steamboat Ski Resort.
“We are grateful for this award and the support we’ve gained from partner organizations in the Steamboat community. The grant enables us to study the viability of next generation geothermal in partnership with the Steamboat Ski Resort. Our technologies are field-tested and commercial ready. We’re optimistic about deploying our clean energy ecosystem at the resort.” – Pure-Green CEO Brian Dunn
The current plan includes green hydrogen production to replace natural gas and to power fleet vehicles and work to provide geothermal energy and storage directly to the Yampa Valley power grid.
