ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo. (KDVR) — An Arapahoe County family is pleading for answers after their teen son was beaten in an apparent road rage incident on Thursday night.

It happened Thursday around 8:50 p.m. Deputies responded to a possible traffic crash in the 6000 block of South Fraser Street, near Parker and Orchard roads. Once deputies arrived, they found the teen and realized there was no crash but instead a violent road rage incident.

The teen’s mother, Monique Ramos, said he was pulling into the complex when the other driver was pulling out and almost hit him, initiating the heated moments.

“So the other driver got upset, and my son was still driving as the other driver got out and threw a rock at his car. And my son got out, and that was probably the wrong thing, ’cause that’s when he got attacked,” Ramos said.

The boy said they hit, kicked and strangled him, leaving multiple scars and bruises. His mother and the rest of his family live just a few minutes down the road, so Ramos got to the scene as fast as she could.

She described what was going through her mind when she arrived.

“Oh my God. Is he OK? Where are these people at? All I could see was cops surrounding him and my son on the ground crying, so it was very, just, disturbing for any mother to see their son in that situation,” Ramos said.

Ramos said her son is extremely shaken by the situation, has not been able to go to work and has had nightmares — all on top of the pain from his injuries.

The suspects left the scene quickly after the altercation, but apparently, there were witnesses. This pleading mother is begging for someone to come forward.

“If it was me and I saw this, I would make sure that I stayed on the scene and gave the officers information. And I understand that people are scared and don’t want to get involved, but if you have video of what they look like, what their car was like, what direction they drove off, all of this information would help,” Ramos said.

Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office said the first suspect is a heavyset Hispanic male estimated to be in his mid-40s, standing about 5-foot-5 with short black hair, arm tattoos and facial stubble. The second suspect is described as a Hispanic female in her 40s with long black hair. They possibly drove a small grey sedan.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office tip line at 720-874-8477.
