DENVER (KDVR) — United has agreed to pay the city and county of Denver $1.55 million to be the only airline allowed to advertise at Denver Arts & Venues through December 2026.

Denver City Council adopted the measure on Monday in a block vote after it was first passed by the Business, Arts, Workforce, Climate and Aviation Services Committee on May 22. The agreement was slated to begin on Feb. 1 of this year and will end on Dec. 31, 2026.

Under the agreement, United Airlines will be the only aviation service to advertise at the following events and locations:

According to the contract, United must pay Denver $500,000 this year, $515,000 in 2025 and $530,450 in 2026 to advertise at all the above venues. The new contract will kick out Southwest Airlines, which had a contract to advertise at Red Rocks only.

The Denver Arts and Venues agency has an annual budget of about $67.6 million, according to the city’s budget.
