Man killed in crash southeast of Denver, closing Colorado 86
A man died Monday morning in Elbert County after swerving into oncoming traffic on Colorado 86, according to the state patrol. A 45-year-old man died after swerving into oncoming traffic on Colorado 86, about seven miles east of Kiowa, according to the Colorado State Patrol. The driver of a 1993 Dodge pickup truck was driving west on the highway when he went off the right shoulder, overcorrected and swerved into the eastbound lane. The Ford driver was taken to a hospital with serious injuries but died at the scene of the crash. The highway was closed for the morning and is expected to remain closed until at least noon.
