What to do in Colorado this week: A blow-up art installation in downtown Denver

Plus: A murder mystery in Breckenridge, the original Rocky Horror Show in Longmont and the start to Día de los Muertos celebrations in Civic Center park The weekend is marked by immersive events, including a blow-up art installation at Denver Pavilions Mall and a murder mystery in Breckenridge. The Biennial of the Americas, a pan-American riff on European art biennials, has been occupying downtown Denver every other year since 2010. This weekend, the Biennial is hosting “oxímoron” an inflatable installation by Mexican-Argentinian artists Pablo Kobayashi and Lucía Aumann. The installation is free and open to the public. FloraJane DiRienzo, executive director of the Biennials and the event's expansion into year-round programming is part of an effort to showcase what empty space can be, whether outdoor or interior. Other events include The Rocky Horror Show, a rock-n'-roll musical tribute to B movies and cult classics, and a free celebration in Civic Center park.
